What to bring
The exact requirements depend on the appointment type. The patient services team can confirm what is needed when the booking is made.
Current referral
A current GP or medical referral is generally required for orthopaedic and medical specialist appointments.
Cards and claim details
Bring your Medicare card, private health details, DVA card or WorkCover claim information where relevant.
Imaging and reports
Bring available X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, discharge summaries and operation reports, including access to the actual images where possible.
A payment method
Fees vary by clinician and by service. The patient services team will confirm what applies to your appointment when you book, so bring a payment method for the day.

Your clinician may ask about the problem, previous treatment, medical history, medicines, daily activity and what your treatment goals are. An examination may follow. Imaging is arranged only when it is clinically useful and available within the relevant pathway.

Recovery and follow-up
