Imaging and investigations in Wollongong
Joint Vision provides on-site X-ray and musculoskeletal ultrasound where clinically appropriate, helping relevant clinicians connect investigation findings with assessment, treatment planning and follow-up.
On-site X-ray
May support assessment of fractures, alignment, arthritis and other bony conditions when requested by an appropriate clinician.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound
May assist with selected tendon, muscle, ligament, joint and soft-tissue questions.
Clinical context
Imaging is most useful when interpreted alongside the symptoms, examination and decision being considered.
Connected follow-up
Results can be linked back to the treating specialist, allied health clinician or injury pathway.
When imaging may be used
Investigations should answer a useful question.
Not every patient needs imaging before assessment. The treating clinician can help determine whether a scan or X-ray is likely to change diagnosis, treatment or follow-up.
Fracture and trauma assessment
X-ray may help identify or monitor suitable fractures and guide immobilisation, specialist review or rehabilitation.
Arthritis and alignment
Imaging may help clarify joint-space change, alignment and structural factors relevant to treatment planning.
Tendon and soft-tissue questions
Ultrasound may be useful for selected tendon, muscle, bursal and soft-tissue presentations.
Planning and follow-up
Investigations may be used to support a procedure, surgical decision, treatment response or recovery review.

Musculoskeletal ultrasound performed on site, so the scan and the clinical question stay together.
