Joint Vision Orthopaedic Group marked its fifth anniversary having become a significant Illawarra employer and having changed how musculoskeletal care is delivered in the region.
Background and growth
Established in 2020, Joint Vision began operating in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then it has grown to employ more than 40 permanent, casual and contract staff, and has provided care to thousands of patients.
Our integrated five-station clinic means patients can see the right specialists, have scans, and receive a treatment plan, all in one visit.
Working through the challenges
The organisation navigated pandemic lockdowns, evolving health regulations and broad cost-of-living pressures. Rather than contracting, it expanded its services and its team.
Community contributions
- Partnership with the University of Wollongong for medical education, research and clinical placements
- A fracture clinic that helps reduce pressure on emergency departments
- Public patient access through its clinics
- Support for local sporting initiatives through sponsorships and partnerships
Looking ahead
Joint Vision plans to expand its research programs, increase service capacity, and continue developing care models focused on accessibility and expertise.
